APSC Preparation: A Daily Study Routine That Works
· 7 min read
APSC Combined Competitive Examination rewards steady, daily work far more than bursts of intense study. The aspirants who clear it usually have one thing in common: a routine they could keep for a year. Here is a template you can adapt.
Morning (7 AM – 11 AM): deep work
Use your freshest hours for the hardest subject — usually Polity, Economy or your optional. Read from standard sources and make short notes in your own words.
Midday (11:30 AM – 2 PM): Assam-specific GS
Assam history, geography, economy and current affairs carry real weight in APSC. Give them a fixed daily slot rather than leaving them for the end.
Afternoon (3 PM – 6 PM): practice
- Prelims MCQs from previous years
- One or two mains answers, timed
- Review mistakes the same day
Evening (6:30 PM – 9 PM): revision and current affairs
Revise what you studied that morning, then cover the newspaper. Short, repeated revision is what makes facts stick on exam day.
Weekly
Take one full-length mock every week and spend the next morning analysing it. Keep one half-day free to rest — burnout is the most common reason routines collapse.
Why a library helps
A fixed seat in a quiet room makes the routine automatic: you arrive, you sit, you start. Many APSC aspirants in Silchar study at Read & Rise for exactly that reason.
